This post has nothing to do with triathlons, but I thought many athletes love their wireless headsets and we tend to use to them all the time. So I thought this post is worth writing since Apple Support couldn’t fix the issue for me.
If you happen to own one of these Beats Studio wireless headsets, and you noticed a constant drop in bluetooth connection, then let me save you time and don’t call Apple Support, unless you want to replace yours with a new one. Might be worth a try since they are quick at replacing it, and then come back here and read how to fix the connection issue.
So what is the issue?
About a month or so ago, I started noticing my wireless headsets keep dropping bluetooth connection with my iPhone. Almost every time I switched between songs, or went from a podcast, to Youtube or listening to music, suddenly the BT connection dropped.
I called Apple Support, and they sent me a new headset. Thanks! But that didn’t fix the issue. So I Googled it and found the fix buried in some support forum.
How to fix it?
- You can update the firmware on these headsets. Head to Beats By Dre Firmware Update website and download the updater. You will need install it, then just follow the simple instructions and the firmware will get updated in your wireless headsets.
- Once you do that, go to your phone bluetooth setting, erase the old Beats Studio connection
- Turn on your newly updated headsets, and wait for it to appear in your phone’s Bluetooth under Other Devices section. Select your Beats Studio and enjoy.
This fix should work on any Beats By Dr. Dre Wireless device and not limited to the Beats Studio. Hope this post saved you a lot of time and frustration trying to research this issue.
